How to Fix Windows Script Host Error

Fix 1: Repair VBS script file

The first thing to do is restore the.VBS file to its default values. This is done through Registry Editor. So make sure you have a backup of your entire computer before editing the registry.

  • Open Registry Editor (type regedit in the search box and open the result you need) and navigate to Computer \ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ VBS.
  • In the right pane, double-click the default and change the value data to VBS file.
  • Click OK and restart your computer. Everything should return to normal.

Fix 2: Fix Registry
